JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager (SPM) to oversee and drive complex,

large-scale software development projects and multi-project accounts. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to clients and key stakeholders, ensuring successful end-to-end delivery while optimizing profitability, quality, and team performance. Beyond project execution, you will mentor junior/middle PMs and contribute to refining project management processes across the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Account & Program Delivery: Lead complex, multiple concurrent delivery streams, managing overall scope, WBS, master schedule, Man-Month optimization, and P&L (Profit & Loss / Budget control).

• Pre-sales & Proposal Development: Partner with Business Development and Solution Architects to build technical proposals, RFPs, cost estimations, and resource forecasting; pitch directly to prospective Japanese clients to expand project pipelines.

• High-Level Stakeholder & Client Management: Serve as the main escalation point for executive stakeholders and Japanese clients; handle high-level negotiations, scope changes (CRs), and client expectation management.

• Strategic Risk & Quality Governance: Proactively identify systemic risks, establish quality standards, and enforce robust risk mitigation plans across project teams.

• Process Leadership & Mentoring: Drive Agile/Scrum maturity, standardizing PMO processes, and mentor Junior/Middle PMs to build high-performing engineering teams.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in software development or Project Manager cum BrSE Role, with at least 2 years in a Senior PM role managing large-scale projects or multi-project portfolios.

• Strong track record of successfully delivering complex offshore software projects for the Japanese market.

• Solid hands-on background in presales activities (scoping, proposal writing, pitching) and accurate Man-Month (MM) estimation.

Languages:

• Japanese: Business-level fluency (N1, N2) with a strong track record of working directly with Japanese clients and stakeholders.

• Business-level English (TOEIC 750+ equivalent).

Tools & Methodologies: Mastery of Agile/Scrum practices; proficiency with Jira, Backlog, Confluence, and advanced project tracking frameworks.

Core Competencies:

• Strong potential and readiness to advance into a Deputy Project Director role within 1–2 years.

• Exceptional strategic thinking, financial management (budgeting/cost tracking), and risk management skills.

• Outstanding negotiation, conflict resolution, and C-level presentation skills.

• Proven leadership abilities with strong mentorship and team-building capabilities.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or

related technical field.

NICE TO HAVES

• Professional certifications: PMP or Agile Leadership/CSM.

• Solid technical background in system design, cloud solution architectures, or software development lifecycle.

• Experience establishing or improving PMO (Project Management Office) frameworks.
